POhWER was set up in 1996 by service users who, tired of others making assumptions about their capabilities and views, wanted equal access to information and a voice of their own. Staff network groups POhWER currently have three internal Staff Network Groups: Mental Health First Aiders As part of our commitment to employee health, safety and wellbeing, we have Mental Health First Aiders in place. The aim of our Mental Health First Aiders is to promote a workplace culture where people are free to discuss mental health issues openly and to feel supported by their colleagues when they do so. Our Mental Health First Aiders are members of staff who are passionate about reducing the stigma associated with mental health issues and normalising conversations about mental health, who have volunteered to be trained in Mental Health First aid and provide a point of contact for their peers. Unify The internal staff consultation group made up of elected staff representatives. Unify raise staff feedback to the Executive Team and talk through decisions and actions that affect staff.
