Fundraise

Empower the community

A graph showing how every POhWER pound is spent. For every £1 that is donated to POhWER 90.3p is used for our advocacy, information and advice services.POhWER’s work helps to reach over 400,000 people each year, but rising needs require more support. Not all the services that our clients require are currently funded by the government. That is why we need your help to reach even more people with our services.

Through getting involved in fundraising you can help empower marginalised people in the community to uphold their rights and get their voice heard.

For every £1 that is donated to POhWER 90.3p is used for our advocacy, information and advice services.

Why support us?

Stephen's Story

A picture of a man crying

Stephen experienced suicidal thoughts along with episodes of psychosis which lead to him drinking heavily. During this time, Stephen was mugged and raped.

Stephen felt hopeless, but after receiving help and guidance from a POhWER advocate, he now understands his rights and the local authorities were alerted to Stephen's vulnerable situation.

Stephen is now receiving counselling from the LGBT Association and has hopes of going to college later in the year.

“Everything is falling into place, I’m being taken care of in the hands of the professionals. I’m getting back on track.”
