Spot Purchase Advocacy with POhWER

At POhWER, we understand that not every advocacy need can be met through existing local contracts. That is why we offer a flexible spot purchase advocacy service across the country.

Whether you are supporting someone placed out of area, facing unexpected demand, or filling a temporary gap in provision, our extensive national network of experienced advocates is here to help.

Why Spot Purchase with POhWER?

  • Extensive advocate network: We have a wide pool of skilled advocates available nationwide, allowing us to respond flexibly to referrals.
  • Expertise across advocacy: From statutory to non-statutory advocacy, our advocates bring significant experience to ensure individuals’ voices are heard and rights are upheld.
  • Flexible arrangements: We offer clear spot purchase options designed to suit different needs and budgets.
  • Easy process: All you need is a referral form and signed spot purchase agreement.

Examples of Spot Purchase Advocacy We Provide

  • Relevant Person’s Paid Representative (RPPR)
  • Rule 1.2 Representatives
  • Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) where the current provision cannot accept referrals
  • Independent Care Act Advocacy (assessments, reviews, safeguarding)
  • Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA)
  • Litigation Friend services
  • Community advocacy
  • Peer/Group advocacy
  • Self advocacy
  • Other types of advocacy to fit your needs

For Situations such as:

  • Local advocacy services are at capacity or have waiting lists
  • A specific statutory duty applies that current provision cannot meet
  • A one-off, time-limited piece of advocacy is required

How to Refer

Referrals are usually made by professionals such as local authorities, NHS teams, solicitors, and voluntary organisations. If you are unsure whether spot purchase is the right route, our team will be happy to discuss your case and advise.

Make a referral

Making a referral is straightforward:

  1. Contact our referrals team to discuss the individual’s needs and timeframes.
  2. Submit a referral form and return the signed spot purchase agreement.
  3. Advocacy begins, with regular updates provided throughout the process.
