POhWER has published its 2022 - 2023 Impact Report. The report shows the Impact of POhWER’s charitable work for the year from April 2022 to March 2023.

The report shows that last year POhWER supported 524,278 people through its information, advice, and advocacy services. POhWER’s services support people across the UK to have their voices heard, to uphold their rights, and to be involved in decisions about their lives.

POhWER supports people who experience disability, vulnerability, distress and social exclusion. POhWER does not have a “typical beneficiary” and the report highlights the diverse range of people POhWER has supported. The ages of people supported range from children to people over the age of 75.

POhWER’s report showcases the voices of their beneficiaries with quotes and client stories which humanise the impact of their work and helps people to understand how advocacy can support people in their everyday lives.

POhWER believes safeguarding beneficiaries is paramount to protecting their human rights. Safeguarding empowers people, protects people, and prevents neglect, harm and abuse. POhWER raised 966 safeguarding alerts in 2022 – 2023.

POhWER’s Impact report also shows the impact of its campaigning activity in the last year. In 2022 POhWER launched it’s My Dignity, My Rights Campaign – which aimed to uphold and protect the Human Rights Act, oppose the proposed Bill of Rights, and bring people together for an important conversation about human rights. Over 339,523 people engaged digitally with this campaign.
