POhWER have been providing a range of advocacy services to the residents of Hounslow since the 1st of January 2021. 

We offer the following services in Hounslow:

• Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and Relevant Person’s Paid Representative (RPPR)
• Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) including support for informal patients who are over 18 and in a psychiatric facility in the borough
• Independent Care Act Advocacy including generic advocacy where you may be able to access Community Advocacy around your Care Act assessment where you are not entitled to statutory advocacy. This can be instructed by your assessor if they are in agreement and the referral must come from a Social Worker
• NHS Complaints Advocacy
• Inpatient Mental Health Community Advocacy Service - this Inpatient Community Service is available to all qualifying patients who are:
  • Hounslow residents AND
  • an inpatient in a psychiatric unit in the borough AND
  • 18+ years of age AND
  • referred by NHS or Local Authority staff.
