About us Our Carbon Net Zero Strategy and Plan 2021-2030 In 2021 POhWER laid out our strategy for achieving net zero by 2025, but as we near our original deadline we want to be open and honest regarding the relative success of this key objective. We are therefore undertaking an internal review of progress and will in due course publish an update here, and if required, any tactical changes to ensure Net Zero is achieved as soon as possible. POhWER is committed to taking responsibility for reducing our carbon footprint. We are doing this through: Well maintained buildings and facilities Offering fully flexible working to staff to reduce office commuting requirements Reducing the use of paper, printing and associated waste by encouraging people to use technology effectively, with a focus on improving digitalisation of some of our administrative functions Repairing equipment before considering disposal or replacement Encouraging employee bicycle usage through our Bike to Work scheme Encouraging staff to travel between meetings on foot or bicycle where possible Encouraging use of public transport and car sharing Recycling dry goods within our offices The organisation is currently undergoing an energy assessment as part of the government’s ESOS scheme administrated by the Environment Agency. This is an audit of the energy used by our buildings and transport and will enable us to further enhance our carbon efficiency. Manage Cookie Preferences
