AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN THE HR COMMITTEE OF A LEADING CHARITY PROVIDING ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT TO THE DISABLED AND VULNERABLE

Giving people a voice – and making sure it’s heard – is something POhWER does every day. We’re all about promoting equality, challenging unfairness and giving disadvantaged and vulnerable people access to high quality information, advice and advocacy services.

POhWER is a dynamic charity with an ambitious strategy seeking to ensure that we employ and retain the best people in order to support over 40,000 vulnerable people a year and to help them to know and obtain their rights. Our turnover is 12 million and we employ over 430 staff.

We are seeking to co-opt a HR specialist to join the HR committee of the Board of Trustees

As a volunteer, you will join a small and committed team. You will be an HR professional and along with other members of the committee will provide advice, guidance and support to the HR manager.

Based in Stevenage you will attend quarterly half-day meetings and should be available to undertake project work. It is anticipated that the total time commitment will be up to seven days a year.

This position gives an exciting opportunity to learn more about how charities operate, and all that this involves. A full induction programme will be arranged, with the opportunity of further training on matters relating to charitable activities. You will work with a team of like-minded people dedicated to the success of POhWER.

Please apply by returning a current c.v and supporting letter indicating what you would bring to the Board of Trustees and this role to [email protected]

For an informal discussion and further information please email [email protected] or call Bridget Flint, Chair of the Committee on 01438 712544

For further information, or to apply for the post, please contact the HR team at [email protected] or on 01438 846 015.
