Job Information

Giving people a voice – and making sure it’s heard – is something POhWER does every day. We’re all about promoting equality, challenging unfairness and giving disadvantaged and vulnerable people access to high quality information, advice and advocacy services. POhWER is a registered charity that provides a range of services across England and Scotland.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Neighbourhood Network Development Worker to join our Birmingham team on a full–time basis.

Neighbourhood Network Schemes (NNS) have been commissioned to engage with and invest in community assets to support citizens in their neighbourhoods. As NNS Lead Facilitator in Hodge Hill, POhWER leads on engagement with community assets and a variety of stakeholders in the constituency to map and develop the offer for older people and younger adults with long term disabilities. NNS also facilities a grants awards scheme within the constituency.

As well as mapping community assets, you will lead on identifying gaps in the current offer, develop links and broker contact between community assets and citizens, social workers, GPs and other practitioners.

You will have excellent written and oral communication and a good knowledge of the health, social care and voluntary sectors. You will also have a strong track record in networking and engaging with and involving service users and citizens, working in co-production.

Because of the nature of the job a full driver’s licence and access to your own transport is desirable. Travel expenses will only be paid from the Birmingham border.
