Get involved POhWER's Arthur Bate Fund Are you interested in helping and supporting the work of charities? Would you like support to become a trustee or volunteer? Arthur Bate OBE was a founder Trustee of POhWER who battled for the rights of people with disabilities to have their voice heard. Arthur fought for this his entire life, he was a Trustee of several disability groups and worked with the County Council and the NHS to make sure people with disabilities were represented. Sadly Arthur passed away in August 2013. In Arthur's memory, we have launched the ‘Arthur Bate Fund’, with the aim of continuing Arthur’s legacy by supporting: Individuals to contribute to the voluntary sector as a volunteer or trustee, especially in advocacy and peer support charities and for Voluntary sector groups or organisations to engage more people, especially in advocacy and peer support charities.
