An event hosted in Hemel by Sunnyside Rural Trust and run by advocacy charity POHWER last Thursday 12th September brought together over 40 local organisations which included a wide range of health and social care providers, statutory and voluntary organisations. This is the first ‘Shout About It’ event in Hemel and the local organisations hosted a range of stalls to provide information on which services were available to the people in the Hertfordshire area.

There were over 100 visitors that came to talk to the different stall holders and Dacorum Mayor Terry Douris attended the event, and was greeted by POhWER’s Vice President and Founder Member Steven Rathbone (see below). Stallholder from HertsHelp Lauren McGuire said ‘ It was a really buzzy day, the sun shone and I told lots of people about our services.’

There were incredible performances of singing and dancing by the Purple All Stars and Local Vocalist Helen Lester.

The original Shout About it event in Stevenage is in its sixth year and will be held at the Forum Conference Centre, in Stevenage Town Centre on Thursday 17th October from 10.30am-2.30pm. It is free and open to all!
