About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Information, Advice and Advocacy Support Officer to join our HertsHelp Hub team on a fixed term contract working on our HertsHelp contract based in Stevenage.

You will be supporting a wide range of vulnerable people with sometimes profound and multiple needs, so ideally you will have experience of this type of work, along with a good working knowledge of voluntary organisations.

You will have the ability to listen and communicate sensitively with a range of people, along with good computer and organisational skills and a confident and friendly telephone manner.

This is a challenging and fast paced environment providing information, advice and support over the phone or via email to individuals, their families or professionals. .

About you:

You will be a confident positive team player, able to work in partnership with clients and professionals, gaining an understanding of their issues by listening, exploring options and taking action as directed by them. Our ideal candidate will have worked in advocacy, Information and advice or a similar role before, ideally in a health, social care or voluntary setting and will have experience of working with vulnerable adults.

You will need to have a flexible attitude and must be comfortable handling highly sensitive information, and in seeking support and supervision. Strong communication skills and time management skills will be required and you will need to be computer literate.

Part time will also be considered for this role.
