Dallas Clarke is a 46 year old woman who was diagnosed with a personality disorder and depression 4 years ago. Dallas was unhappy with the way that she had been treated by the Barking Havering and Redbridge Trust (BHRT) she felt that therapy was being denied to her. Dallas felt that there was a lack of support from the mental health team, that the staff’s attitude was bad, there were a lack of appropriate referrals, inconsistency in moving forward and the medical reviews were not helping to stabilise her mood.

A POhWER advocate stepped in and established that Dallas was confused and found it hard to articulate her concerns. Once the reason for the complaint was established, the advocate helped Dallas to put together a letter of complaint. The outcome of this is that Dallas feels BHRT have not closed the door on her and would still offer therapy if needed. Dallas was happy with the advocates support.
