About us: Giving people a voice – and making sure it’s heard – is something POhWER does every day. We’re all about promoting equality, challenging unfairness and giving disadvantaged and vulnerable people access to high quality information, advice and advocacy services. POhWER is a registered charity that provides a range of services across England.

About the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Credit Controller to join our Finance team working in Hertlands House, Stevenage.

To ensure POhWER’s financial effectiveness we are looking for a committed Credit Controller to support this critical function. This role is all about collecting the cash; you will be responsible for maintaining the Charity’s sales ledger through the issuing of timely and accurate sales invoices, allocating customer payments, maintaining the aged debtors report and keeping customer details up to date. You will take the front line of credit control by following up unpaid invoices by email and telephone, and co-ordinate support and escalation with colleagues around the organization. As part of a small finance team, this role involves an element of general finance and administration support.

About you: It is important that you will be able to demonstrate the skills required from experience in a similar role and/or environment. Knowledge of the Charity sector and contracting with public sector customers would be an advantage, but not essential.

You will be a confident, positive team player, highly organised and possessing strong communication skills. You must have drive and determination, as well as being able to collaborate with colleagues in order to get the job done.

We are looking to recruit people who share our core values and can demonstrate that they apply and live those values in their daily working practice.

There are also possible volunteering opportunities available within POhWER across the whole of England, to get more information on these opportunities please visit http://www.pohwer.net/get-involved/volunteering-for-pohwer.
