Please note: This service only available in East Sussex, Waltham Forest and Suffolk

Our qualified professional advocates support children and young people through a range of services.

We work face to face with children and young people who are receiving treatment on a mental health unit - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). Our CAMHS advocacy support is provided within both private and NHS hospitals across the country. Our advocates provide drop in services for the young people to access advocacy on a regular basis.

Our advocates support children and young people to:

  • Prepare for and attend their weekly MDT meetings and other meetings
  • Raise complaints both informally and formally
  • Understand their rights
  • Talk with other professionals
  • Get involved in patient forums so they can share their views about their stay and ways to improve this.

Young people can refer themselves to the service or speak to the advocate during a regular drop in. They can also be referred by a third party. We can support individuals to have their voice heard or work with groups of young people to raise issues they have identified.

Please check the local pages for East Sussex, Waltham Forest and Suffolk for specific referral information.
