An amazingly well organised vintage coffee morning took place to raise money for POhWER in Aston Village Hall Stevenage last Friday. There was an array of gorgeous cakes courtesy of POhWER’s Interim Chair of Trustees Geoff Gibbs’ wife Margie and her cake making committee. One member of the committee Wendy made 17 of the cakes (favourites were salted caramel and lemon curd). As well as proper coffee in china teacups there was a fantastic raffle, gifts, beautiful handmade cards and a very popular black Labrador called Marston who was very well behaved around the cakes.

The event brought together young and old in the buzzy village hall on what was a gloriously beautiful autumn morning.

Natasha and Maria for the Herts team represented POhWER and the event raised over £700, the third highest yield ever from this twice yearly charity event. Thanks to Geoff and Margie for organising what became a family affair as even their son was persuaded to wear a pinny and pitch in.
