POhWER has appointed Helen Moulinos as our new Chief Executive.

In a career spanning more than 25 years, Helen has specialised in organisational change and transformation, and has held many senior leadership roles in the charitable and international private sectors.

Helen joins POhWER having most recently acted as Interim Director of Change Delivery for national end of life experience and bereavement charity Marie Curie UK. Prior to this, Helen was interim Chief Operating Officer at Stonewall, Europe’s largest LGBT organisation. She performed a similar interim leadership role at Charityshare, a technology consortium serving Age UK, the Alzheimer's Society and The Children's Society.

Before her career in the charitable sector, Helen worked in banking for Salomon Brothers, Deutsche Bank, and Goldman Sachs in New York and at Lloyds Banking Group and HSBC in the UK.

Robert Wainwright, Chair of the Board of Trustees for POhWER, said:

“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Helen Moulinos as our new Chief Executive. Helen brings a wealth of experience to POhWER having worked for over 25 years in the private sector and British charities leading on corporate change and development.

“Helen has worked in 11 countries, recently holding leadership roles at Marie Curie, Stonewall, Age UK, Alzheimer’s Society and The Children’s Society. She will play a vital role in helping us grow and develop our national advocacy services.

“I would also like to thank Mark Lister on behalf of all the Trustees, directors and staff for his hard work and service, and we wish him every success in his future endeavours.”

Helen Moulinos, Chief Executive of POhWER, said:

“POhWER’s mission to address inequality in society through social care support and advocacy resonates strongly with my values and ethics. POhWER is one of the charity sector’s best kept secrets supporting many thousands of people each year to live independent lives, including helping people with immediate and pressing needs during the Covid-19 crisis.

“I see incredible potential for us to be reaching even more people in the next few years by growing POhWER and I look forward to the next stage of our development by building movements and influencing change on a grander scale.”
