Central and East of England > Luton

POhWER has been working in Luton since 2003. Last year we supported 420 people in the Town.

As well as providing a range of advocacy services we also have a Community Development worker who facilitates group work for service users and drop in sessions within the community and support services.   The work carried out within the groups is then fed back to the local authority and forms a part in their strategic plans for the town.

From the 1st July POhWER will deliver Independent Advocacy for Alcohol & Drug Users and Their Family and Carers.

We provide the following services in Luton:

  • NHS Complaints Advocacy
  • Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA), including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and Relevant Person's Paid Representative Services (RPPR)
  • Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA)
  • Community Advocacy
  • Care Act Advocacy
  • Community Development
