POhWER attended an event organised by Community Learning Project. The aim of this event was to enable the private, statutory and voluntary sector the opportunity to effectively engage on the issue of health and well-being in a non-stigmatised environment with particular emphasis on BME Health and communities. Over 200 people attended the event.

There was well over 30 stallholders all local to LLR. These included:

  • Healthwatch Leicester City & Leicestershire
  • Turning Point Leicestershire & Rutland - integrated substance misuse service for the city, Leicestershire and Rutland county and Leicester prison. Work with anyone who is affected by drugs or alcohol and wants support to make change.
  • Shama Women’s Centre – Educational, Social & Well Being Service for BME communities
  • Leicestershire Partnership Trust Patient Experience Team
  • Ansaar Carers Wellbeing Service - supports carers to develop their strengths and increase their confidence to access their rights and entitlements.
