About us News An update on POhWER’s new services We are very pleased to have been awarded new contracts to deliver advocacy services in Oxfordshire, Telford & Wrekin and East Sussex from 1st October 2019. Oxfordshire Advocacy HubOxfordshire is a completely new area for POhWER and we will be working hard to build new connections with stakeholders and community and voluntary organisations across the county. We will be delivering: Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) Relevant Person’s Paid Representative Service (RPPR) Independent Mental Health Advocacy Service (IMHA), including a Prison IMHA Service in HMP Bullingdon and HMP Huntercombe Independent NHS Complaints Advocacy Service Independent Care Act Advocacy Service (ICAA) Community Advocacy. We will be delivering the Advocacy Hub in partnership with NYAS, who will be delivering all children’s advocacy countywide. Telford & Wrekin POhWER has delivered the Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy Service in Telford & Wrekin since 2007 and we are delighted to have retained this service and to be expanding our provision to include Care Act Advocacy and Relevant Person’s Paid Representatives. We look forward to continuing to work with our professional stakeholders and to broadening the reach of our advocacy services, supporting more people to speak up and be involved in decisions about their care and treatment. East Sussex POhWER has provided a range of advocacy services in East Sussex since 2010 and following a recent re-tender we have retained these services, which include: Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) Care Act Advocacy Independent Advocacy for vulnerable adults. This new contract links well with our recently awarded partnership contract to deliver the Sussex Advocacy Partnership which started on 1st July and includes Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy in East Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton & Hove.
