POhWER deliver the following services:

• Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA)
• Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) including the Relevant Paid Person's Representative (RPPR) service
• Independent Care Act Advocacy (ICAA)
• Independent Health Complaints Advocacy (IHCA)

Barnardo's deliver the following services:

• Independent Advocacy for Children in Care (CIC), and care leavers between the ages of 5-25 years
• Children’s and Young People Independent Visitor Service for Children in Care between the ages of 5-18 years

How do I get support from a Barnardo's advocate or independent visitor?

To make a referral for support from Barnardo's in Waltham Forest, you can download the forms below:

• Barnardo's Children’s and Young People Independent Visitor Service referral form

Independent Visitor Service referral forms need to be completed by the social worker and signed off by the gatekeeper. The referral forms can be sent by email to [email protected]

For advocacy referrals, young people can self-refer. Social workers, IROs, foster carers, placement staff can all refer (with YP’s consent).
