Betty is an elderly lady with various physical disabilities. She is currently experiencing issues with both her housing provider and nuisance from her neighbours. She felt that she was at a stand still and was unsure who could help, or what she is able to do. Her Advocate discussed the option of making a complaint with Betty. She said she felt that with everything going on in her life, she wasn’t sure if she could write a letter to the best of her ability. Her Advocate discussed the option of Betty writing the complaint letter and then her Advocate looking over it once it was finished. This was empowering Betty, without her feeling like she did not have anyone to support her through a process she felt challenging.
