About the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advice and Advocacy Support Centre Team Leader to join our Birmingham Information, Advice and Advocacy Support Centre team based in Birmingham. The role is based on the attached job description and salary offered will be dependent on the level of skills and experience that closely match the role. About you: You will be supervising and supporting a team of Information Advice and Advocacy Support Officer (IAASO) staff or volunteers/social work students/apprentices who support the frontline delivery of POhWER’s business plan. POhWER supports a wide range of vulnerable people with sometimes profound and multiple needs on our helplines, so ideally you will have experience of this type of work, along with a good working knowledge of voluntary organisations. In addition to this you will be responsible for providing accurate management information on a timely basis. You will be supporting staff who work in partnership with clients and professionals. Their key role will be gaining an understanding of their client’s issues by listening, exploring options and taking action as directed by them. Our ideal candidate will have worked in advocacy, Information and advice or similar contact centre role before, ideally in a health, social care or voluntary setting and will have experience of working with vulnerable adults. You will need to have a flexible attitude and must be comfortable handling highly sensitive information, and in seeking support and supervision. Strong communication skills and time management skills will be required and you will need to be computer literate.
