- Looking into why a client was reluctant to to attend a day centre
Here we observed the client's interactions both at the day centre and in other settings to put together a picture of his preferred places and activities. This led to insights into why the client was unhappy at the day centre and to the sharing of this information with day centre staff. - Attempting to form a picture of a client's feelings about impending medical treatment
Following close observation of the client in various settings, this included research into the possible effects of the proposed treatment, and sharing of this information with workers involved in the care of the client. - Investigating a client's feelings about regular long journeys to day care
In this case, after initial work observing the client, and gaining a picture of their reactions, we negotiated permission to travel with the client to directly observe his experience.
