ShropshireWest Midlands > Shropshire POhWER has provided the IMCA service in Shropshire since 2006 and last year we received over 200 referrals. POhWER has provided the Direct Payments Support Service in Shropshire since February 2012. We offer the following services in Shropshire: Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA), including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) is a statutory advocacy service to support vulnerable people who lack capacity and need to make important decisions but have no representatives as defined under the Mental capacity Act 2005. Direct Payments Support and Advice Service where Direct Payment Advisors support individuals to consider receiving their personal budget as a Direct Payment so that they can fund their own care. Advisors will support with all aspects of setting up a Direct Payment account and employing Personal (care) Assistants (PA) where needed.
