MedwaySouthern England > Medway POhWER have been operating in Medway since 2014, and over the last year we have supported over 400 clients to gain access to and have their voices heard by mental health service in Medway, people who had given up on getting the help they needed until they received the support of an advocate. POhWER are now also piloting a new service to support client’s with Learning Difficulties in the community, beginning in May 2016. We provide the following services in Medway: Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) Community Mental Health Services Community Learning Disability Advocacy Service How do I get support from an advocate? Local Resources Download the Medway IMHA leaflet (pdf) In your area Southern England Medway Mental Health drop-in This is an opportunity for you to come and speak with our advocacy team about the support you need around accessing or having your voice heard by Mental Health services in Medway. You don’t need an appointment, just pop in and we will answer your questions as best we can and try and give you the support you need to access the services that can help you. Anyone who is supported by Mental Health Services or feels that they need help with their mental health needs are welcome. We can help you to make a complaint, request a change in medication, request a change in the treatment you receive, support you at meetings, and help you access services. This takes place on 2nd Monday of every month from 10am-11am.
